npm install -g @codeyam/codeyam-cli@latestAfter install, run codeyam in your project root.
FREE. NO REGISTRATION. RUNS LOCALLY.
WORKS WITH CLAUDE CODE TODAY, MORE AGENTS COMING SOON.
Working towards the ideal development experience
AI can write code at insane speeds, but how do we know the code does what we want? We need to put more focus on rigorously testing outputs with easy-to-evaluate results.
Communication is always hard. Tools can help us isolate specific parts of our application, loaded with specific data, to create a shared context for debugging and collaboration.
Until we have AI that is personalized to each codebase, we will continue to have challenges with AI forgetting context. We need tools that help AI remember the important information about our codebase.
While developing, AI can demonstrate what code does by simulating it live. AI can capture design decisions in memories and documentation as it goes. AI can refactor, optimize, and organize code on the fly.
How it works

The CodeYam CLI provides access to all CodeYam tooling. You can enable and disable tooling as needed. It contains a local database, a server that runs locally, a complete dashboard, and a variety of features that help AI and agents work more effectively with your codebase and collaborate with you while increasing your visibility into what is being done.
FEATURES
CodeYam Memory reviews your coding sessions automatically, captures important decisions and confusion points, and organizes them into clean rules that guide future sessions, so your agent gets more effective over time.

npm install -g @codeyam/codeyam-cli@latestThen just run codeyam in your terminal.
Isolate any function or component in your codebase and see it running with AI-generated data. Explore how it behaves under different states and edge cases. Interact with it directly.

When a simulation works as expected, capture it and include it as part of your test suite. As simulations accumulate, you get a living map of how your software actually behaves, not just how the code reads.

Available in the CodeYam dashboard as an experimental feature
We are working toward our vision of an ideal development experience. This is one where AI and humans can work together quickly, zooming in and out of an application, simulating it in different ways, easily capturing results and building robust documentation and testing throughout the process.

Get started

npm install -g @codeyam/codeyam-cli@latestfrom your terminal.
It reads your codebase and opens a local dashboard.
Approve rule suggestions, explore simulations.
Everything runs locally. No login. No cloud.
We've built products at companies like Pivotal Labs, Lyft, Meta, and startups. We've seen how development tooling has to evolve as codebases and teams scale - and how much harder that gets when AI is writing the code.

Free. Runs locally on your machine. No account required.
npm install -g @codeyam/codeyam-cli@latestWorks with Claude Code, for any language. More agents coming soon.
